Richard Smollin, DVM
Dr. Smollin is a graduate of The Ohio State University and the owner of Winnetka Animal Clinic since 1980. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, his older brother became an equine veterinarian and was a major influence in his decision to pursue small animal medicine as a career. His love of animals developed early in life, as his brother was always bringing stray dogs home to live with them. His first pet was a blind poodle named Zorro.
Dr. Smollin has served as president and secretary of the Southern California Veterinary Medical Association, San Fernando Valley Chapter; was a member of the board of directors of the Animal Emergency Care Center of Woodland Hills, California, for more than 15 years; and was president of the Winnetka Chamber of Commerce for three terms. He is licensed to practice in California, Ohio, New Jersey, and Florida.
Dr. Smollin is married and lives in the San Fernando Valley. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, golf, and spending time with his family and new lab rescue, Jarfi.
Dr. Robert Fullington
Dr. Fullington was born and raised in central California and headed down south to get his undergraduate degree in biological sciences at UC Irvine. While going to school, he took a part-time job at a local veterinary hospital. Cleaning kennels and taking care of boarding animals was his first glimpse at veterinary medicine. He then attended UC Davis Veterinary School and graduated in 1994. He spent a year doing a very busy internship at the Veterinary Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He spent the next year in rural Illinois, and then came back to California. He thought he would never live in Los Angeles, but he’s been here now for 15 years. He lives with his fiancée and their two dogs in the Valley and works every Thursday at Winnetka Animal Clinic.
Courtney has been working at Winnetka Animal Clinic since the beginning of 2012. Currently, she attends California State University Northridge as an undergraduate biology major with hopes of becoming a veterinarian. She has two small dogs, Knuckles and Snoopy, along with five turtles. Courtney loves working at the clinic because it gives her an opportunity to learn about dogs and cats while working with great people.
Kathy has been a bilingual receptionist and veterinary assistant at Winnetka Animal Clinic since March 2005. She was raised in the San Fernando Valley and is a graduate of Reseda High School.
Maria is a bilingual receptionist at Winnetka Animal Clinic. She is quite attached her dog, Milo, a terrier mixed with poodle. She also really loves working at Winnetka Animal Clinic. Maria hopes to grow as a person here and gain all the knowledge she can in the veterinary field.
